World Allergy Week
Anaphylaxis Canada is proud to be part of a growing global community focused on food allergy.
As such, we are pleased to let you know that the World Allergy Organization (WAO) has designated the week of April 7-13, as World Allergy Week, with its key theme this year being “Anaphylaxis – When Allergies Can Be Severe and Fatal”. The WAO chose this theme because of the increasing prevalence of food allergy, especially among children and because of the need for widespread education and awareness related to preparedness, response, treatment, and prevention.
For more information and to view their press release please visit www.worldallergyweek.org
We are also pleased to have Anaphylaxis Canada’s educational resources posted within the Patient Advocacy section of the site.
In addition to this initiative, Anaphylaxis Canada is preparing for Food Allergy Awareness Month in Canada this May. In a few weeks, we’ll be in touch with you to share information on our exciting public awareness initiatives and ideas about how you, too, can get involved and make a difference.
